If you are studying a book with Bookshelf+ enabled, you may be presented with the option to create a study plan. Here's what it is and how to use it.
What is a Study Plan?
A Study Plan turns your course into a week-by-week guide right inside your book. Provide your term dates—and optionally your syllabus—and it lays out your readings, assignments, and milestones like exams to help keep you on track.
Setting up your plan
Open your book, go to the Study Plan tab next to Table of Contents and click Get Started.
The plan creator will be open.
Enter your term start and end dates.
You can also upload your syllabus (.docx, .txt, .pdf, .rtf, or .png, up to 10MB) or paste the text directly. If you skip this step, the plan will spread the full textbook evenly across your term.
Select Generate Study Plan.
Your plan at a glance
Once generated, "My Study Plan" shows your weeks as individual cards.
Your current week is flagged at the top, with the total pages, estimated reading time, the assigned reading page range, and a link into related CoachMe Practice Questions (when CoachMe is available).
Future weeks live in the Upcoming section below; exam weeks are called out so you can see them coming.
Editing your plan
To rename or delete a week, open the three-dot menu on that week's card and select Edit Title or Delete.
Select Looks good to accept the plan or Try again if you want to adjust your dates or syllabus and get a new plan.
To edit the plan name or generate a new plan at any time, open the three-dot menu near the plan title and select Edit Study Plan Title or Regenerate Study Plan.
Staying on track
Finished a week? Open the three-dot menu on that week's card and select Mark Complete (the same menu also lets you edit the week's title or delete it). The week moves down into your Completed section, and the next week becomes your new current week automatically — so your plan always reflects exactly where you are.
Good to know
- Study Plans are only available in books where Bookshelf+ is enabled.
- CoachMe links only appear if CoachMe is available for that book.
- Syllabus upload is optional and is limited to one syllabus per book
- Multi-course use of the same book in the same term is not supported in this initial release.
