How to Enable Cookies for VitalSource to Launch the Service
If you received a message that your launch was unsuccessful, your browser may be blocking VitalSource cookies. Cookies are required to sign in to VitalSource from your school's Learning Management System, such as Canvas, Blackboard, Brightspace (D2L), or Moodle.
To fix this, allow vitalsource.com to set cookies in your browser. You can either allow all third-party cookies or cross-site tracking, or add vitalsource.com as an allowed site in your browser's cookie settings. To add vitalsource.com as an allowed site, follow the steps for your browser below.
Google Chrome
- Open Chrome and go to Settings.
- Select Privacy and security.
- Select Third-party cookies.
- Under Sites allowed to use third-party cookies, select Add.
- Enter vitalsource.com and save your changes.
- Refresh your Learning Management System and try launching VitalSource again.
Safari
- Open Safari and go to Settings or Preferences.
- Select Privacy.
- Make sure Prevent cross-site tracking is turned off, or add vitalsource.com to your allowed websites if your version of Safari supports site-specific cookie settings.
- Close Settings.
- Refresh your Learning Management System and try launching VitalSource again.
Firefox
- Open Firefox and go to Settings.
- Select Privacy & Security.
- Under Enhanced Tracking Protection, choose Standard or create a site exception if available.
- If you manage cookie exceptions, add vitalsource.com as an allowed site.
- Refresh your Learning Management System and try launching VitalSource again.
Microsoft Edge
- Open Edge and go to Settings.
- Select Cookies and site permissions.
- Select Manage and delete cookies and site data.
- Under Allow, select Add.
- Enter vitalsource.com and save your changes.
- Refresh your Learning Management System and try launching VitalSource again.

Note: Effective Jan 2024, Google has updated 1% of all its users to limit third-party cookies, whether the user set it that way or not. Even if a user has changed this before, please check your settings, as Google may have updated them.
